Who Is Jesus?

The Crucifixion

Jesus Christ made some remarkable statements about himself in the New Testament. Within a few pages of the gospel of John, he called himself the bread of life (6:35), the light of the world (8:12), the gate for the sheep (10:7), the good shepherd (10:14), the resurrection and the life (11:25), the way, the truth, and the life (14:6), and the true vine (15:1). His was a life lived to the glory of God. But we don’t want to study the life of Christ as information, but as a real story about a real person. Only in that way can we decide if we would follow him and entrust him with our hopes, fears, and sins. There are many people who have realized that Jesus is Savior and Lord, and that he is all-sufficient for life. No one who said the things Jesus said and claimed the things he claimed can be ignored. We believe God has revealed his grace and mercy to the world in the person of Jesus Christ.

Those of you who already know Jesus Christ are aware of his love and presence. For those of you who have not made that discovery, enter into the dialogue. Listen to the story. Wrestle with the implications. Jesus claimed to be “the” truth. Explore the claim. Enter the conversation.
